Hey October. You were pretty awesome but you went by real fast. What’s up with that dude? You’re supposed to be my buffer between the craziness of my kid’s birthday and the mad panic to start getting ready for Christmas. Not cool. Let’s take it a bit slower next year thank you. Let’s follow October’s example and go quickly – here’s my October Love List.
Lush’s Halloween Range
Lush’s new Halloween range gave me an excuse to stock up on my favourites. I absolutely adored the Monster’s Eye bath bomb. The water turned a beautiful shade of ocean blue and the smell was so incredibly relaxing that I’m surprised I didn’t just melt away.
Ben & Jerry’s
I just discovered this flavour – it’s probably been out for ages. It tastes like an amazing combination of peanut butter cups and cookies and cream. So freakin delicious. It’s a good thing Ben & Jerry’s is expensive, otherwise I’d be as big as a house.
Gilmore Girls
I am barrelling towards the conclusion of my two month Gilmore Girls catch up binge watch and I am still loving it. I’m on the dreaded season 6 at the moment and I just have to get this out – what is your damage, Anna Nardini? I don’t understand why everyone puts their hate on April and forgets to loathe you. You are the absolute worst and have a permanent spot on my characters never to be forgiven list along with Ramsey Snow, Jim Moriarty and
Rampant Consumerism
I love love love my new iPhone 7 Plus. At first I thought the larger size would feel weird in my hand but it actually feels a lot smaller than it is. I love writing on it – its so much easier to see everything on it. I didn’t actually need a new iPhone, but the dual camera feature was too interesting to pass up. The camera is definitely a big leap up from the iPhone 6, particularly in low light.
Gabori Sisters: By The Sea
I love that this museum has an entire floor just for children, and seeing it transformed into a beautiful underwater space is fantastic. We’ve been to this exhibition at GOMA a few times, but it never fails to make me feel instantly relaxed and inspired. A big favourite is the wooden boats set up with everything you need to draw pictures!
Doctor Strange
Oh my goodness. Benedict Cumberbatch AND Marvel? Sign me up and hold me back. Check out my review here and see why Doctor Strange is definitely worth getting a babysitter for.
Halloween
I love all things Halloween. Sweets? Check. Dress Ups? Check. Scary Movies? Check and Double Check. I could seriously just move into Halloween Town and stay there forever. My son has a real thing with masks/hats/hoods/anything touching his hair so he went as a Spiderman who has thrown his secret identity to the wind. And hey, has anyone noticed how Spiderman seems to never keep his frickin mask on in the movies anyway?
Did you have a good October? What would make your October Love List? Do tell in the comments.

Thanks for sharing your October over at Life This Week! I’ve had an Iphone 6plus for almost 2 years now and any other phone feels small! Love it for all I do with a phone these days…which is just about everything except write the blog post! Denyse
I was holding someone else’s iPhone 4 at work the other day and I was amazed at the difference in size. It just felt so strange in my hand.
I never hated on April (and it was only recently I learned others really hated her) but Anna….fark I hated that character “engaged isn’t married” …what, so your kid CAN’T TALK TO ANOTHER HUMAN because of a lack of government paperwork?! That bit still bugs me (clearly) to this day.
OH MY GOD DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED!!! grr makes my blood boil. You just want to shout at the screen! April is such a cutie though. I’m so glad she’s coming back for the revival!
Love that you are rewatching Gilmore Girls…just quietly I am super excited about the Netflix mini series coming out hehe xx
oh my god me too. It’s totally going to be a dad taking care of the toddler weekend that one 😉
I can’t wait to see Dr Strange too! Thanks for the prompt. Your month looks satisfying!
I so loved it! Was probably one of the best Marvel movies I think.
Looks like a great month for you! I suppose October was pretty special here to mainly because of Halloween! The kids had so much fun dressing up and handing out candy to the trick or treaters! And my eldest was fortunate to be employed by Luna Park in Sydney as head SPX makeup artist! So it was a great night!
oh wow! I’m so glad October was such a great month for you too! And congrats to your eldest – what an amazing opportunity!
October went past so fast, I can hardly remember what happened. But there was a family wedding at the start and Halloween at the end!
The museum looks great for kids, and I’d love a new phone!
It seemed to race by didn’t it? All of a sudden the world is about Christmas. Too soon!
Oh my word I have to get my hands on that Ben & Jerrys! I don’t love peanuts but it looks amazing!!! You’ve inspired me to check out some of those Lush goodies too 🙂 x
I love it because it’s not too peanutt-y. So many things overdose on the PB and don’t have enough chocolate 🙂
LUSH and Ben and Jerry’s are on my list of loves too!
SSG xxx
Lush should be on everyone’s list! 😉
I’m really keen to see Dr Strange so need to get off my arse and do so.
I have – however – organised Netflix so am all prepped for The Gilmore Girls when it returns later this month.
And I wish I could eat Ben & Jerry’s but am coeliac as it’s so not an option…
Can’t wait for Gilmore Girls!
Oh there is an iPhone 7 Plus?!! I have an iPhone 6S Plus and it’s been superseded and I didn’t even know! Lol I love the larger size so much! Doesn’t feel too big in the hand either. Mine is in Rose Gold which I love. Thanks for linking up! 🙂 #TeamLovinLife
Ooh Rose Gold! I’m not gonna lie, I was so tempted to go rose gold. It’s super pretty.
Lots to love for you this month! I must admit, I’ve started to kinda like Halloween, whereas I hated it at first. It seems to only have become a “thing” in Australia in the last 10 years or so. Kids love it! #TeamLovinLife
Yeah. I’m terribly sad that it become a thing just as I stopped being young enough to celebrate. My son gives me a second time around 😉
We thoroughly enjoyed Halloween this year. I finally embraced it.
I’ve been dying to try the Jimmy Fallon ice-cream. Will need to do that before they discontinue it (which often happens by the time I get to these things).
Thanks for joining the Lovin’ Life Linky! So much to love!!! Hope to see you again next Thursday.
